Our aim is to provide a warm, friendly and stimulating environment in which each child can learn through play. We wish to be a place where children know their opinions and beliefs are important and listened to.
Our setting endeavours to:
- provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age.
- work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop.
- add to the life and well-being of the local community.
- offer children and their parents a service that promotes equality and values diversity.
Our pre-school’s educational programmes involve activities and experiences that cover the seven areas of learning and development identified in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
The session
We organise our sessions so that the children can choose from a range of activities. In doing so, children build up their ability to select and work through a task to its completion. The children are also supported to take part activities in both small and large groups. This will introduce children to new experiences and help them to gain new skills, as well as helping them to learn to work with others. Outdoor activities contribute to all areas of learning and development, including their health and their knowledge of the world around them.
Snacks and meals
As a setting we ensure snacks and meals are a social time where children and adults eat together. We plan the menus for snacks so that children are provided with healthy and nutritious food. At lunch time packed lunches are brought from home.
Out in our community One of the key aspects of our curriculum is going out to various places in the local community. We enjoy going to the beach, the local shops and parks. By doing this we are encouraging road safety from a young age.
